Can a country that sells arms to repressive regimes have a feminist foreign policy? Can a coloniser apply the label ‘feminist’ to its relations with a former colony? Should a feminist foreign policy focus on humanitarian aid or include trade and diplomacy?

In a live event on April 13, a panel of experts convened by the Impact newsletter took on these questions and more.

Panellists Kirthi Jayakumar, founder and head of The Gender Security Project, and Déborah Rouach from the Institute for Gender in Geopolitics discussed the benefits and potential pitfalls of feminist foreign policies, and how to make international relations more just in a profoundly unjust world.

If you missed the live event, you can watch the recording here.

You can also catch up on our panel at the International Journalism Festival, ‘The state of gender journalism around the world: challenges, approaches and opportunities’, by watching the video below.

Until next week!
