‘Instead of doing aid, let's start with reparations’
Watch our discussions on feminist foreign policy and gender journalism
Can a country that sells arms to repressive regimes have a feminist foreign policy? Can a coloniser apply the label ‘feminist’ to its relations with a former colony? Should a feminist foreign policy focus on humanitarian aid or include trade and diplomacy?
In a live event on April 13, a panel of experts convened by the Impact newsletter took on these questions and more.
Panellists Kirthi Jayakumar, founder and head of The Gender Security Project, and Déborah Rouach from the Institute for Gender in Geopolitics discussed the benefits and potential pitfalls of feminist foreign policies, and how to make international relations more just in a profoundly unjust world.
